Gato Gordo Gallery: Black History Month Exhibition
Through Feb 27, 2025
Artworks exploring themes of resilience, cultural heritage and the Black experience come together in a thought-provoking exhibition. The Black History Month Exhibition at Gato Gordo Gallery runs from January 24 through February 27, featuring diverse perspectives from more than ten international artists.
The curated collection spans works from creators across Africa, Europe, Latin America and the United States. Pieces in the exhibition examine themes of labor, oppression, survival and triumph, with notable works drawing inspiration from historical events like the Tulsa Race Massacre. Other featured artworks celebrate the strength of Black women, cultural pride and the traditions of African spiritual healers.
Located in Liberty City, the gallery showcase is available for viewing by appointment only.
