Heritage Fest
Feb 08, 2025
Starting: 3:00 PM
Pan-African culture and community artistry converge in an afternoon of music, dance, literature and local flavors. Heritage Fest returns to the Adrienne Arsht Center on Saturday, February 18, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., offering free activities and performances that celebrate the diversity of African heritage.
The event features an engaging mix of interactive workshops and cultural presentations. Attendees can participate in an Afro-Venezuelan drumming session with San Juan USA, join a dance fitness class led by Shanna Woods, or learn iconic MJ dance moves from T.M. Pride. Dr. Michael Woodward shares readings from his works Young Queen and The Mighty Monarch Butterfly, while local band STOUT closes the festivities with a live concert.
Throughout the afternoon, a vendor village showcases local businesses and food vendors, offering attendees the opportunity to explore and support community entrepreneurs while enjoying the performances.
