Lectures and Panel Discussions
Attend lectures and panel discussions with popular authors who share their latest page-turners, answer questions about their writing processes and inspirations, and sign autographs. See the fair's events calendar for this year's lineup.
The Street Fair
The Street Fair is a favorite part of the festival, especially for families. It takes place Friday through Sunday (November 17-19). Browse booths filled with new and old books, stationery, puzzle books, planners and journals that will inspire you to write. You’ll find exhibitors offering fantasy and children’s fiction by Dana Trantham, mainstream fiction and romantic comedy by Dianna Dann, and paranormal humor by D.D. Charles. (Insider info: these are all pen names of the same writer!)
Enjoy musical performances and stop by the food trucks for a bite to eat. To skip the line, buy Street Fair tickets for Saturday and Sunday online. Tickets range from $5 to $10. It’s free for kids 12 and under. Street Fair activities on Friday are free for everyone.
Children’s Alley
Young readers ages 12 and under flock to Children’s Alley to engage in arts and crafts, listen to authors tell stories, and watch theater and musical performances. It’s not uncommon to see kids in face paint captivated by an author’s reading, and families’ strollers filled with new books to read at home. Teens and tweens can head to the Live Arts Lab for readings and conversations by popular young-adult authors such as E. Lockhart, Tiffany Jackson and Soman Chainani.
Accessibility
The Miami Book Fair strives to make their annual event fun for everyone. In addition to full wheelchair accessibility on the grounds and all venues, the fair welcomes personal assistants and trained service animals to attend free of charge.
