On Wednesday, January 29, Talks at Vizcaya brings together artist Lauren Shapiro, curator Amanda Sanfilippo Long and Vizcaya curator Helena Gomez for a discussion on Shapiro’s exhibition Pastiche, part of Vizcaya’s 2024 Contemporary Arts Program.
The event delves into Shapiro’s artistic practice, the influence of Vizcaya’s historic artistic advisor Paul Chalfin, and the themes of nature, community and public art present in her work. Topics will also include the importance of art commissioning in Miami and the broader impact of site-specific installations.
